Position Overview
Payloads Organization within Boeing Commercial Aircraft seeks Structures and Payload Design Engineers (Associate) in Everett or Renton, WA to support our Seats Integration Team (SIT). Seat Engineers manage the installation, integration, and certification of passenger seat programs in Boeing aircraft, overseeing supplier seat designs to ensure all customer, regulatory, and Boeing requirements are met.
Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
- Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3‑D CAD tools and other methods to provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.
- Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.
- Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
- Work under general direction.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
- Two or more years of experience working in a relevant industry or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of payload engineering releases and configuration management processes.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically 10‑20 % of the time.
- Strong attention to detail and effective collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with CATIA, ENOVIA, IVT, DCCS, and REDARS.
- Experience reviewing technical documents.
