Position: Payloads Design Engineer 3

Chipton-Ross is seeking 30 Payloads Design Engineers 3's for a contract opportunity in Everett, WA.

100% onsite

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with engineering processes and tools; including CSDT, CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, and associated release processes.
  • Experience with aircraft cabin and cargo engineering products and designs.
  • Experience with engineering support within a production system.
  • Experience with direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines.
  • Experience supporting the validation of compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with regulators.
  • Experience with Design for manufacturing.
  • Experience with Aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and/or certification.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team.
Position Responsibilities

Client is seeking an Experienced Payloads Design Engineers to support the Washington Interiors Team.

  • Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Works under general supervision.

Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
  • Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
  • Client experience is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.).
  • Demonstrates good problem solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
Required Education

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences). 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Hours

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8 AM - 4:30 PM
