Job Summary
Washington, DC-based Single-Family Office seeks an experienced Family Office Controller to oversee and execute accounting, financial reporting, and control functions, and oversee its passive investment and personal asset portfolio.
This position is open due to the retirement of current personnel, and the new Controller will have the opportunity to work with the existing personnel to ensure a smooth transition. Reporting to the Principals, the Controller ensures accuracy and consistency in financial reporting while supporting the unique needs of the Family Office.

Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial management for the Family Office, which includes several LLCs, trusts and investment companies.Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and detailed expense analyses.Coordinate with external tax accountants to support the preparation and timely filing of tax returns for individuals and entities. Gather annual tax documents (1099s, K1s) and prepare data and supporting schedules as needed.Oversee outside passive investments. Interact with investment managers, analyze reports and prepare summary analyses and memorandums.Manage financial aspects of personal residences, including mortgage debt administration and refinancing, and payment of expenses, including real estate taxes and insurance. Prepare analyses as needed.Assist family members with investment, financial and charitable decision-making.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and CPA.Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.Prior family office experience.Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to respond quickly to requests.High degree of professionalism, discretion and commitment to confidentiality.Advanced proficiency in accounting systems;
Quick Books and Excel. Experience with preferred.Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC.
