- Educational incentive pay: 90 quarter credits, 60 semester credits, or AA = additional 6%; BA/BS = additional 8%.

YOU MUST attach certificates or transcripts to your application as proof of completion of the following:
- Washington State Corrections Officer Certification as mandated by Washington State Law (or copy of Academy transcript noting Certified Corrections Officer).
- Corrections Officer Academy or an in‑state civilian correction officer basic training program recognized by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC), as required by Washington State law.
- Out of state candidates must have passed a civilian basic corrections officer academy accepted by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission; and be eligible for and able to successfully complete the Washington State Equivalency Academy within six months of hire date. Please attach any correction officer basic training certificate and training syllabus.
This position monitors, transports, supervises and maintains custody of prisoners in the Marysville Jail.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
A combination of the experience, education, and training listed below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position.
Experience:- LATERAL:
Must have one year of experience as a corrections officer within the last two years prior to the date of application. The one year experience must be obtained after successful completion of a civilian corrections officer basic training program recognized by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. - EQUIVALENCY:
Must have one year of experience as a corrections officer who is currently a regular full‑time custody or case management employee of a publicly funded corrections agency within Washington State.
- High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age by date of application.
- Must be able to successfully pass the City's Civil Service examination process for Lateral Level Custody Officer.
