Fire Safety Assessment Specialist

• You will serve as Damage Control expert in support of the commands Fire Safety Assessment Program (FSAP) and in accordance with the CNSP/CNSL 4810.1.
• You will support the commands Emergency Management program which includes training staff on Area Commander duties, maintaining the Casualty Response Plan and coordinating with Supporting Commanders to improve Fire Response readiness.
• You will assist in the planning, executing, monitoring, of short- and long-term strategy and process improvement efforts to improve the fire response capabilities of the Area Commander.
• You will provide technical guidance to Force Damage Control Officer, Program Managers and surface ships.
• You will plan all aspects of a yearly Full-Scale Exercise to assess Area Commander proficiency when responding to a Major Shipboard Fire.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
leading shipboard assessments, policy reviews and training for fire Marshalls and emergency teams by supporting the planning, education and monitoring of short- and long-range strategies to enhance response capabilities that ensure mission success for a command
