Overview

The Infection Prevention Expert is considered to have expertise in Infection Prevention. An IP Expert is expected to work autonomously and to serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists.

The Infection Prevention Expert works autonomously and serves as a mentor to other infection preventionists.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
• Upon hire:
  National Certification in Infection Control – Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
• 5 years healthcare experience
• 5 years epidemiology or infection prevention experience

• Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
• Within 2 years of hire Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) or
  • Within 2 years of hire Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP)
• 10 or more years healthcare experience
• 10 or more years epidemiology or infection prevention experience
