This is an up to 1.0 FTE non-continuing contract, Speech Language Pathologist vacancy. This position does not include benefits. Please indicate in application if you are interested in full or part-time. Anticipated start date is April 13, 2026.

Minimum Requirements: Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate certificate as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Applicants with a master's degree in speech language pathology, audiology or communication disorders are encouraged to apply. JOB TITLE: SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
JOB SUMMARY: Speech Language Pathologists conduct evaluations to determine eligibility of students for speech and language services and provide those services to eligible students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participate as a team member with responsibility for the identification, eligibility, and placement of speech and language impaired students.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students and to meet individual student needs.
- Develop therapy schedules and provide Speech Language Pathology (SLP) services for students with speech and language impairments from preschool through age 21 in accordance with their IEP.
- Evaluate, implement, and monitor augmentative communication devices for appropriate students including devices for deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Plan and provide clear and intentional focused instruction based upon individual student IEP goals.
- Recognize individual student learning and cultural needs and develop strategies to address those needs for the purpose of promoting individual achievement/success. Foster and manage a safe, positive learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success.
- Communicate and collaborate with parents and school community for the purpose of fostering student success and achievement and meeting special education laws and policies.
- Participate in and facilitate various meetings for the purpose of addressing student goals and needs, and to meet laws and policies.
- Engage in continuing education studies which insure professional growth.
- Maintain and process accurate records/documents as required by state and federal regulations and district policy.
- Direct the work of assigned classified staff and SLPA.
- Fulfill legal responsibilities, implement, and comply with federal and state laws, district policies and other guiding principles, and State Code of Professional Conduct.
- Perform other duties of similar scope and function.
- Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours specified under contract.
