Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
  • Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Summary

The CT Technologist operates computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, setting imaging parameters, ensuring safety protocols, collaborating with radiologists, maintaining equipment, and documenting procedures.

Essential Work Functions
  • Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissues.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately.
  • Set appropriate technical parameters to demonstrate anatomy and pathology accurately.
  • Provide high‑quality images to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to protect patients and staff.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment.
  • Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services.
  • Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Technologist practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Proficiency in English, reading, writing, and verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and electronic medical record systems.
  • Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain professionalism.
  • Technical/motor skills: grasp and perform fine manipulation, assist with procedures, operate department equipment.
  • Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail.
  • Sensory requirements: visual acuity and effective communication.
