Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept)- Deliver engaging, play-based therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Support treatment goals and implement individualized therapy plans that help children succeed at home, school, and in the community.
- Track progress, document sessions, and share updates with the therapy team and caregivers.
- Collaborate with OTs and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and motivating therapy environment that sparks growth and confidence.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Certification: Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Licensure: Active DC and Virginia COTA license (or eligibility to obtain required)
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of pediatric experience preferred
, but motivated new graduates are welcome to apply! - Experience supporting children with developmental delays, sensory processing differences, fine/visual motor, and self-regulation challenges preferred
- At least 1 year of pediatric experience preferred
- Knowledge &
Skills:- Familiarity with evidence-based pediatric practices and a willingness to learn under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Strong critical thinking, communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while following established treatment plans
- Proficient with technology
, including Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and iPads
- Certifications & Clearances:
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Negative TB test and background check
