JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room Technician (CST) to join our surgical team. The OR Tech will work in a Level II Trauma Center environment, assisting surgeons with a variety of complex procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and sterile instruments are available and functional.
- Assist the surgical team by anticipating the needs of the surgeon and providing instruments, supplies, and equipment during operative procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques throughout the surgical procedure.
- Account for all sharps, sponges, and instruments before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
- Properly handle and dispose of surgical specimens and waste.
- Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgical staff, to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 3x12 Nights
- Requires at least one weekend night shift per scheduling period.
- Must have at least 1 year of surgical technologist experience.
- Must have experience in Level II Trauma, Craniotomy, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro (crani/spine), and General surgery.
- 1 year of surgical technologist experience.
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center environment.
- Experience with Craniotomy, Ortho, Neuro (craniotomy/spine), and General surgical procedures.
- Experience with Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic, and Cardiac surgical procedures is a plus.
- Proficiency in anticipating surgeon needs.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and aseptic principles.
- Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- EPIC charting system.
- Operating Room (OR)
- Level II Trauma Center
- Procedures include Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Plastics, Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic, and Cardiac.
- BLS required.
- NBSTSA preferred.
- No floating between like units.
- On‑call requirements include approximately 6‑8 weekday nights and 6‑8 12‑hour shifts within a 13‑week period.
- Weekends required are limited to occasional on‑call, with advanced notice provided.
- WA State License required.
- Pending license accepted.
- All requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of submission.
- Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2‑week period.
