Overview

The Housekeeping Manager is a key member of the Trout Lake Camps team and an essential part of Trout’s ministry. This full‑time ministry position requires a heart, commitment, and an attitude of reflecting Jesus in all interactions. The Housekeeping Manager is accountable to the Operations Director and, when required, works under the direction of the Executive Director.

Year‑Round Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, hourly staff, and apostleship staff.
  • Ensure all facilities are clean and serviceable before guests arrive, including guest lodging areas, cabins, Shalom, The Cottage, staff housing, restrooms, and board rooms.
  • Maintain an “everything clean and prepared for every event” concept.
  • Use ASANA for daily information regarding guest groups.
  • Respond in a timely manner to housekeeping requests.
  • Communicate with ADP – Guest Services regarding guest group facility and housing needs.
  • Communicate with the Registrar regarding in‑house programmed event facility and housing needs.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment within budget guidelines.
  • Inform the Operations Director of any routine or specific maintenance issues that cannot be fixed.
  • Hire, schedule, and supervise staff as needed to maintain budgetary constraints.
  • Teach all staff how to clean to a high standard.
  • Supervise all cleaning crews and prepare all fireplace areas.
  • Train staff to light fires and stock supplies.
  • Operate night lights around camp.
  • Be on call or schedule on‑call staff for emergencies.
Tri‑Season Responsibilities
  • Check all assigned facilities prior to arrival of guest groups/events (Thursday check, Friday ready‑to‑go concept).
  • Shovel and sand Shalom walkways in winter.
  • Clean alongside crews.
  • Create applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Create documents and signage.
Summer Responsibilities
  • Supervise assigned summer and Dteam staff.
  • Check all assigned facilities before each camp week.
  • Clean Shalom and all health lodges every Friday/Saturday.
  • Water flowers on grounds.
Other

Job Duties
  • Minister to fellow staff, summer staff, Dteam, volunteers, campers, and guests.
  • Check and respond to voicemails, emails, and camp mailbox regularly.
  • Build and maintain relationships with past and present Trout staff.
  • Work weekends and other irregular hours as necessary.
  • Be on call for emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare RAMP reports and other necessary documentation.
  • Attend all related staff meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Record hours worked in Buddy Punch or other time‑recording software.
  • Take advantage of continuing education opportunities as available within budgetary guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.
  • Highly organized, flexible individual with experience in multi‑tasking, creative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple written and electronic formats.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with other camp departments.
  • Knowledge of general facilities and equipment operation.
  • Good people skills.
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and demonstrate concern for organizational excellence.
Other Information
  • Individual must agree with the Converge North Central Statement of Belief.
  • Employee will not act in a way that contradicts or undermines our core ministry principles.
  • Employee may be assigned a different role than initially hired if required by the ministry.
  • Employee must represent Converge North Central and Trout Lake Camps positively in all conversations.
  • Background check and completion of the Ministry Safe program are required before employment.
  • Position averages 40–48 hours per week annually; flexibility is required.
  • This is a salaried position listed at $42,000/yr.
