Human Resources Technician
This position performs a variety of highly technical human resources functions relating to all aspects of employee certification, analyzing and processing employee data related to compensation, supporting various staff training requirements, processing unemployment claims, and managing staff records.
Performance responsibilities and essential functions include:
- Facilitates annual and ongoing certification process for all administrative and certificated staff.
- Evaluates and processes certificated staff transcripts, and required credit approval forms, ensuring accuracy for salary placement.
- Processes verification of experience received for former classified and certificated employees.
- Responds to Personal Loan Forgiveness forms.
- Processes Mukilteo Extra-Curricular Classified Unit (MECU) and National Board stipends through the Skyward Qmlativ System.
- Posts, updates, and maintains credit and experience information in the payroll system for certificated personnel.
- Provides support for the District's summer school program.
- Coordinates and facilitates the placement and onboarding process for student interns, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Provides support for para educator certification processes, including compliance with state and district requirements.
- Facilitates the District's Vector Training online mandatory training program.
- Coordinates the District's unemployment claims process. Researches claims and provides responses according to established timelines.
- Provides support in managing the disability accommodation request process for district staff.
- Provides back-up support for Employment Specialist tasks such as preparing job postings and screening applications.
- Completes Live Scan fingerprinting for staff as needed.
- Conducts various human resources-related studies and projects including data collection for labor negotiations and presentation.
- Provides confidential administrative support to HR leadership.
- Complies with District Policies.
- Maintains consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor(s).
Skills, knowledge and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively implement various human resources laws and procedures.
- Ability to utilize systems, technology tools, programs, software and accounting procedures to efficiently and accurately fulfill job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of and ability to use automated personnel applications related to job responsibilities.

Education/Training:
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of recent applicable experience in a medium to large public or private human resources office using a computerized human resources system.
Preferred Education/
Experience:
- AA degree in human resource management, business, or related field.
- Experience in public school or public agency personnel/human resources area.
