Job DescriptionLocation: Washington, DC (Hybrid /Approved Remote)

Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Dev Ops Engineer todesign, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure supporting NCCIH’s digital platforms and research initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bridge development and operations, ensuring efficient
CI/CD pipelines, system reliability, and adherence to federal security standards.
- Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) for high availability and scalability
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows
- Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Ensure system security,compliance, and governance aligned with federal standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST)
- Monitor system performance,availability, and incident response using observability tools
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
- Collaborate with development,security, and data teams to streamline deployment processes
- Manage configuration, patching,and environment consistency across systems
- Support disaster recovery,backup strategies, and business continuity planning
- Document processes, architecture, and operational procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6–10+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
- Proficiency in scripting(Python, Bash, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CDtools (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
- Understanding of networking,security, and system administration
- Experience working in regulatedor compliance-driven environments
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Focus on automation, reliability, and security
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure pipelines
- Exposure to zero-trust architecture or advanced cybersecurity practices
