Avaya Voice Engineer

Overview

Avaya Voice Engineer (PSTS-9):
Bowhead seeks an Avaya Voice Engineer to provide Base Telecom Support at the Puget Sound, WA. The Telecom Mechanic effort will provide telecommunications operations and maintenance (O&M). This includes secure and reliable, classified and unclassified, voice and data services in support of Command, Control, Computer, Communications and Information (C4I) operations and exercises.

• Operate and maintain government-owned telephony switches (PBX) such as Avaya Systems CM4.0.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of switch issues.
• Carry out software updates and patching.
• Install and configure switch hardware.
• Monitor daily operation.
• Support voicemail systems and IPE (Remote Intelligent Peripheral Equipment).
• Utilize company vehicle to travel to remote locations weekly.
• Ensure switch systems remain fully operational and compliant with DoD/Navy standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associate's degree or higher in IT or Cybersecurity (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience; 5 years preferred.
• Prior experience within DoD networks.

• Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS) or equivalent.
• Nortel Meridian System Administration or equivalent IAT Level II (per DoD 8570.01-M).
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

Targeted pay range is $36.44/hr–$45.00/hr based on interview and experience.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods. Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US citizenship is required for Secret clearance at this location.
