Practice Overview

Ankura's Risk Advisory group, specifically the Forensic Data & Analytics (FDA) team, focuses on high-profile investigations, regulatory compliance, and financial crimes. The team is expanding into key markets including New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

The Director is a pivotal leadership role requiring a blend of technical mastery and strategic business acumen. You will oversee project work streams, manage project teams, and act as a primary point of contact for clients. The role is a unique opportunity to build out a practice in expanding offices (NY, DC, Chicago) and influence the team's culture and capabilities from the ground up.

Ideally, this role will be hybrid based out of one of our locations; remote locations are considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

• Oversee entire project work streams and ensure rigorous quality control across all deliverables.
• Manage and mentor project teams, providing guidance on analysis and fostering professional development.
• Lead client presentations and manage interactions with lawyers, regulators, and C‑suite audiences.
• Master data storytelling by translating complex financial and technical findings into persuasive narratives.
• Support Practice Leaders in strategic growth initiatives and the development of new service offerings.

• 4–5+ years of experience in investigations, litigation, or regulatory compliance projects.
• 4–6+ years of experience using SQL and Python, preferably with additional experience in Tableau, Power BI, R, and / or cloud‑based analytics platforms (Databricks, Big Query, etc.).
• Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex client expectations.
• Strong business acumen paired with advanced technical proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Exceptional communication and presence, with the ability to articulate complex ideas with confidence to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly adaptable and able to thrive in an environment that demands collaborative lateral thinking.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to these markets and considers a broad range of factors. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $85,000 to $140,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.

The disclosed estimate is not adjusted for the geographic differential. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role.
