JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Computer Network Technician

Duty Station: Washington State, USA

Reports To: Sr. Field Technician Manager

Job Summary: A Computer Network Technician at Omnivir is a team player with effective interpersonal skills. They have a client‑centric focus, take initiative, use good judgment, and are well organized. They work with a high level of accuracy and great attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks. An Omnivir Network Technician has excellent oral & written communication skills, along with an ability to work well under pressure, in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.

Our technicians must be available at least 2-3 days per week, Monday – Friday. Technicians also commute to client sites, and therefore, a personal reliable vehicle is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with professionalism, a commitment to excellence, and attention to detail. Technicians must be available for work at least 2-3 days during weekdays, not weekends or weeknights. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations, and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Load computer tapes and disks and install software and printer paper and forms
  • Provide problem‑solving services to network users
  • Perform routine network startup and shut down and maintain control records
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Web‑server hardware and software
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet

Computer & Technology Knowledge: The Computer Network Technician should also be familiar with and have technical knowledge of:

  • MS Windows

  • Intranet
  • Servers
  • Mail server software
  • Desktop publishing software
  • MS Office
  • Desktop applications

Job Types: Part‑time, On Call

Pay: $25.00 per hour
