Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced interpreter to join our team in Washington. As a part‑time interpreter you will be responsible for providing high‑quality interpretation services to English‑speaking Africans in various settings including meetings, conferences and appointments. Your main goal will be to facilitate effective communication between our clients and service providers ensuring that all parties understand each other accurately.

This position is ideal for someone who is fluent in both English and a language commonly spoken by African communities, has experience working as an interpreter and is passionate about helping others. • Provide accurate interpretation services between English‑speaking Africans and service providers
• Attend meetings, conferences and appointments with clients as needed
• Ensure that all parties understand each other accurately by clarifying any misunderstandings or cultural differences
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Keep updated records of interpreted sessions

• Fluency in English and a language commonly spoken by African communities such as Swahili or Amharic
• Proven experience working as an interpreter
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible schedule with availability to work on weekdays and weekends
• Ability to handle high‑pressure situations with calmness and professionalism

This is a part‑time position with a starting salary of $1100 per month.

This job is based in Washington but due to the nature of the work occasional travel within the city may be required.
