Dogwood Industries is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead outbound logistics for modular industrial buildings. You'll oversee daily shipping operations, organize loading of oversized and standard freight, and coordinate with production, inventory, and field teams to meet tight construction project timelines. Responsibilities include scheduling carriers, verifying documentation, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining accuracy in ERP and shipping records. You'll coach shipping staff, drive 5S and continuous improvement, resolve freight issues, and support quality, cost, and on-time delivery for industrial and defense projects nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shipping operations for modular building components and finished units
- Plan and schedule carriers, including LTL, FTL, and flatbed for oversized loads
- Verify accuracy of orders, packing lists, and Bills of Lading before shipment
- Coordinate with production, inventory, and field teams to meet project deadlines
- Supervise and train shipping staff, assigning work and monitoring performance
- Ensure safe loading, securement, and handling of materials and oversized freight
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update ERP or inventory systems
- Implement and uphold 5
- S, safety, and continuous improvement practices in the shipping area
- Resolve freight issues, damages, and scheduling conflicts with carriers
- Monitor KPIs for on-time delivery, accuracy, and shipping quality
