The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for leading and managing construction crews and coordinating with trade partners to successfully execute project work. This role performs supervisory and field management functions, including workforce planning, safety oversight, and job cost awareness, in partnership with the Superintendent.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, assign, and oversee crews based on skillsets and project needs; provide training, coaching, and ongoing development to drive performance and quality work.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding of crew members; address performance concerns and support decisions related to employee retention and development.
  • Communicate regularly with the Superintendent and Project Manager regarding project priorities, job costing concerns, and field issues; elevate challenges as needed.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with crews, subcontractors, leadership, and the public.
  • Maintain and enforce job site safety standards; conduct weekly Job Site Safety Audits and Toolbox Talks; ensure proper use of safety equipment.
  • Review, verify, and submit accurate employee timesheets in accordance with payroll deadlines.
  • Support workforce planning, including promotions, transfers, training needs, and crew development.
  • Identify and resolve workforce challenges while promoting team engagement and productivity.
  • Coordinate with equipment and maintenance teams to address repair and maintenance needs.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, partners, and the public.
  • Coordinate workflow with subcontractors and assist with project documentation, including as-built drawings.
  • Lead weekly planning efforts and proactively forecast labor, equipment, and material needs; communicate needs to appropriate teams.
  • Order, organize, and manage materials on-site to ensure efficiency and minimize waste or rehandling.
  • Ensure crews have the tools, equipment, and resources needed to perform their work effectively.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active membership in the applicable Union, or willingness to obtain membership upon hire.
  • Proven experience leading crews in a construction environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Certificates/Licenses – valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Diverse project experience.
  • Detail-oriented and strong follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
  • Procore, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Salary Range & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
