Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide work direction, assignments, and feedback for maintenance and sanitation activities.
• Supervise maintenance and sanitation activities in the distribution center.
• Monitor preventative maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
• Ensure work assignments are completed on time and per specifications and safety guidelines.
• Determine safety maintenance and inspection methods and instruct and train maintenance technicians on processes.
• Negotiate parts purchases and terms.
• Evaluate equipment and establish a life‑cycle replacement program.
• Ensure safe operation of refrigeration systems.
• Requisition parts and supplies and coordinate their flow through the department.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in all working areas.
• Implement cost‑saving measures within the department.
• Perform supervisory duties as outlined by the maintenance manager.
• Review all completed work, including preventative maintenance, for exactness, neatness, and adherence to policies and procedures.

• Associate’s degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years of experience with refrigeration and/or electrical systems.
• Two or more years of supervising a team or staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and related applications preferred.
• Effective team‑management skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance policies and safety measures.
• Working knowledge of building maintenance and industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Strong supervisory skills and the ability to mentor staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven track record of cost reduction and increased productivity.
• Knowledge of operations planning and follow‑up preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.

• Pay transparency: starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
