Program Manager

Position: Staff Program Manager
The Fluke Product Compliance is seeking a Staff Program Manager to protect business growth by applying program management skills. Fluke is the world leader in professional electronic test tools and software; your programs will help keep the world up and running by developing and delivering rugged, reliable, and accurate test and measurement tools and software used by professionals in critical and fast-growing industries such as solar power and electric vehicle service equipment.

Reporting to the manager of the Product Compliance Team, you will own process discipline, leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed program teams through scoping, securing resources, setting program targets, and holding self and team accountable. The role requires a person who is comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization, in managing conflict and tradeoffs and enabling cross-functional clarity and execution.

+ Leads team to create and update schedules / action plans and drives the crucial conversations necessary.  Leads team through identifying when countermeasures are needed and leads team through countermeasure execution.  Seen as an expert and acts as a coach and mentor to other team members.

+ Defines project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and understands how they impact the larger Fluke-wide metrics. Helps to roll KPIs to leadership.  Can accurately track KPIs to support the high level KPIs in the organization.

+ Seen as an expert in evaluating risk and potential blockers and is able to identify when countermeasures are needed and can lead trade off discussions /impact analysis to resolve including risk mitigation plans.  Can lead teams through pivots when needed.

+ Is seen as a Change Management Champion and is able to commit, advocate and lead through change.

+ Strong Program Management skills including system tools and soft skills.  Able to quickly incorporate Fortive Business System (FBS) tools/skills including project visual management for their program, as applicable.

+ Strong Problem-Solving skills.  Able to quickly identify when problem solving is needed and cultivates a culture of problem solving and applies problem solving as a mindset to the program. Identifies and manages risks. Appropriately escalates problems.

+ Creates and manages budgets for projects of medium to high complexity. Tracks status of budget and communicates to leadership.  Problem solves out of budget requests - challenges unplanned spend.  Able to guide other teams and project managers through budgeting exercises.

+ Strong knowledge of standard work around the entire product lifecycle required for the management of the project.

+ Strong understanding of the full organizational program needs and leads the cross functional program team required to support program activities.

+ Can lead project stand up meetings, owns communicating to leadership and to team with coaching, able to apply the basic visual management tools (Build Measure Learn (BML) schedule, issue tracker, risk register).

* Qualifications:

* + A minimum of 10+ years of experience developing system level products, which include electronic hardware, embedded firmware, and application software in a fully integrated system

+ Demonstrated ability to inspire collaborative team execution including leadership of geographically dispersed cross-functional development teams

+ Experience in coaching junior team members in program management

+ Proven experience in risk management and change management

+ Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization, adjusting appropriately for the audience and purpose

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics degree preferred)

+ PMI/PMP certification a plus

+ Regulatory Compliance experience a plus
