Material Specialist; Strider

Overview

Material Specialist (Strider) – AD Systems – Everett, WA. Allegion is seeking a Material Specialist (Strider) to fulfill a full-time position in Everett, WA at our AD Systems facility. This role is part of the Fabrication department and is responsible for verifying the correct materials and build documentation are supplied to the machining team to keep production flowing efficiently and on-time.

Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (4x10s).

• Gather materials needed for the fabrication process using a cart on wheels, according to the production build packet, acquiring pieces from welding and other materials from the warehouse and moving them to the work cell.
• Maintain general area cleanliness and perform duties as assigned to keep technicians at their workstations, replenishing supplies on carts.
• Assist or relieve production positions on a temporary basis when necessary.
• Communicate with other departments to obtain supplies and materials.
• Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for fabrication/assembly activities.
• Understand and comply with safety and work safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean work area, including cleanup and disposal of trash, production scrap, and material drop-off; assist in cleaning common areas.
• Support inventory, picking, cycle counts, and other material distribution in the facility as needed.

• 2+ years of experience in material distribution, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing preferred. Manufacturing or similar experience required.
• Forklift experience; forklift certification preferred.
• Demonstrated computer experience in Microsoft Office applications and Material Resource Planning / ERP systems.
• Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools and equipment, including applicators, sandblasting and pressure washing equipment.
• Ability to set rigging and operate lifts and small cranes as needed.
• Provide high-quality internal customer service with a professional attitude.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Independent judgment and initiative; proactive about continuous process improvement.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and willing to accept a wide variety of assignments.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; strong math skills.
• Follow safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderly.

In an assembly plant/warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy. May involve work around welding operations. Overhead work may be required. Frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 70 pounds, with occasional heavy lifting up to 100 pounds), and use of production aids such as tilting tables and overhead cranes. Personal protective equipment will be provided. Ability to work under time pressure and perform multiple concurrent tasks, with good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Typical work week is 40+ hours to achieve objectives.

Compensation
:
The base hourly range is $21 - $30.24. Actual pay is based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
