Industrial Sewing Machine Operator
This role is responsible for the production and repair of sewn goods, and supporting the linen, tenting, and equipment protection departments.
Pay
: $21–$24 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
:
Monday‑Friday with potential for weekend work and overtime.

- Operates a single needle, double needle, and overlock machine
- Reads blueprints and interprets product schematics
- Traces patterns and cuts material by hand where necessary
- Will be trained to safely operate:
- RF welding machine
- Automatic grommet setter and web cutter
- Rotary cutting tools
- Works with different sizes and styles of material including cotton, vinyl, polyester, taffeta, linen, and canvas
- Works with sales and marketing to coordinate sample swatches of all fabrics
- Works with other departments to coordinate repairs and production
- Creates, fills out and tracks time sheets, work orders and production drawings/instructions
- Tracks and reports inventory levels of items to be produced or repaired to Inventory Specialists
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or color
- Maintains an organized and clean sewing department
- 5+ years of manufacturing/sewing experience
- Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 60 lbs
- Proficient in operating a single needle, double needle, and overlock machine
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret product schematics
- Knowledge of fabric assembly techniques
