Overview
General Machinist – N0309. Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a General Machinist to join our Fabrication team in Everett, Washington. We are looking for a dedicated General Machinist to join our team, where safety and quality are paramount. You will interpret technical documents and perform precise machining operations, maintaining optimal machine performance while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities- Work with and interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, verbal information, handbook formulas, job layouts, etc., and use shop mathematics including trigonometry and geometry.
- Perform layout necessary to accomplish your work assignment.
- Perform assembly work and surface finishing as required.
- Use and operate all precision measuring instruments and various methods necessary to complete and check your work assignment.
- Provide part quality information and statistics as required.
- Select proper tools, fixtures, machine attachments, equipment, etc., necessary to complete the work assignment.
- Prepare and adjustments as required to ensure proper machine operation.
- Monitor machining system operations including electrical/electronic and mechanical diagnostics and cutter, probe, and sensor data and make appropriate adjustments.
- May include programming and operation of NC and CNC machines.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
- Engage in movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
- Work around metals, solvents, and coolants; operate near moving parts and sharp tools; adapt to varying noise and atmospheric conditions.
- Use personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet; 100% onsite work expectation at listed location options.
- Basic Qualifications: Relevant experience including academic qualifications, military service, or other industry-related roles.
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
- 2+ years of experience using basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to read blueprints with understanding of Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- 2+ years of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators.
- 2+ years of experience setting up and operating Manual and/or CNC machines.
- 1+ year of machining experience using CAD/CAM software.
- 2+ years of CAD/CAM programming experience (using an offline programming system such as Uni Graphics, CATIA, Master Cam, etc.).
- 2+ years of experience operating 3, 4, or 5 axis NC/CNC machine tools.

This is an hourly position governed by the IAM-751 Collective Bargaining agreement. - Shift: This position is for 2nd shift.
- Total Rewards & Pay:
Pay rate is $33.32/hour, with potential to earn up to $61.01/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement. Benefits and program details vary by location and eligibility. - Export Control:
This position must meet export control requirements; a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. - Security/Visas:
This position does not require a Security Clearance and the employer will not sponsor employment visas.
