Schedule

Schedule: Mon - Thur 4am-12:30pm and Friday 6am - 2:30pm. Must be flexible to work weekends if needed due to production or work needs. Must be flexible with schedule and help when team members are out sick or on vacation.

Job Summary

Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment (24v, 120, 240, 480v) such as motors, vacuum pumps, metal detectors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Troubleshoots and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
  • Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
  • Ability to repair electrical equipment with motors (24v, 120, 240, 480v).
  • Repairs and replaces various types of plumbing.
  • Follows plant food safety policies and industry best practices.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Compensation

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $28.28 to $32.13.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Production Maintenance.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education & Experiences
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical (24v, 120, 240v, 480v), conveyors, metal detectors, plumbing and vacuum pumps.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school.
  • Basic electrical (24v, 120, 240, 480v) and automation controls.
  • 3-5 years experience in production maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to problem solve and troubleshoot diverse breakdowns.
