Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Boring Fixture Mechanic to join our Fabrication team in Everett Washington.
As a Boring Fixture Mechanic, you will be instrumental in shaping the components that keep our aviation technology advancing. This role demands a blend of technical mastery, problem-solving, and hands-on craftsmanship to ensure every part meets the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Position Responsibilities:
Independently set up, operate, and adjust assigned power feed drilling machines to perform operations such as drilling, reaming, boring, honing, spot facing, countersinking, counterboring, and finishing, ensuring all machining meets quality requirements and specifications.
Utilize precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to accurately set up machines and inspect machined parts for dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Select and secure appropriate tools, fixtures, machine attachments, and equipment to efficiently complete assigned tasks; design and fabricate precision checking fixtures as needed.
Interpret and apply information from charts, tables, blueprints, handbook formulas, sketches, verbal instructions, and job layouts; apply shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
Perform layout work independently for assigned tasks.
Conduct bench work as necessary to finish parts to meet quality standards.
Plan and sequence work operations to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Maximize machine capacity utilization while minimizing machining time and the number of setups required.
Identify and replace defective tools or equipment promptly to maintain operational efficiency.
Adjust and maintain proper feed rates for oils and coolants to ensure optimal machine performance and part quality.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications:
Relevant experience can include academic qualifications, military service, or other industry-related roles.
3+ years of experience with aircraft fuselage or wing structures assembly, maintenance, or repair.
3+ years of experience with using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, etc.
1+ years of experience utilizing basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
1+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8-hour shift.
