Marine Machinery Mechanic

Job Duties

You will use visual aids and test equipment (e.g., compression gauges, timing gauges, manometers, injector testing machines) to locate and repair worn, dirty, or maladjusted machinery components and parts.

You will disassemble, inspect, repair, overhaul, and modify marine machinery or equipment prior to, during, and after completion of testing to verify all components are operating at an optimum.

You will troubleshoot marine machinery equipment to identify if trade material, tools, or equipment is defective, not operating properly, or not within operation specifications.

You will interpret blueprints and drawings to verify the required repairs are made on marine machinery.
