CNC Machinists – Everett, WA
This role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes and multi-axis lathes with Fanuc controls to manufacture precision aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions. You will ensure parts remain within tight print tolerances throughout the production cycle, maintain part integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement in a clean, well-equipped machine shop.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathes with Fanuc controls and operate them proficiently on a daily basis.
- Perform multi-axis CNC lathe setup and operation to produce complex aerospace components.
- Establish and follow efficient production processes to maintain all parts within specified print tolerances.
- Follow work instructions, setup sheets, and drawings during setup and production to ensure part integrity.
- Inspect parts as they come off the machine, verifying dimensions and quality using micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform deburring as needed during production to meet quality and finish requirements.
- Bore jaws on a 3-jaw chuck on a regular basis and ensure proper setup for secure and accurate work holding.
- Apply extensive knowledge of commonly used M and G codes to program edits and machine operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) at an advanced level.
- Hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0001 where required, maintaining high levels of precision and consistency.
- Observe machines during operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform all required program edits directly at the machine to optimize performance and correct issues.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC lathes and multi-axis lathes with Fanuc controls.
- Strong knowledge of commonly used M and G codes for CNC programming and edits.
- Advanced blueprint reading skills, including GD&T Level 3 or equivalent proficiency.
- Ability to bore jaws on a 3-jaw chuck confidently and correctly.
- Ability to hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0001 on critical features.
- Experience using micrometers and other precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Understanding of Model-Based Definition (MBD) and how it applies to machining and inspection.
- Understanding of material properties and how they affect machining processes.
- Working knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret work instructions, drawings, and procedure manuals in English.

Work Environment
This position is based in a machine shop environment with exposure to typical shop noise and dust. You will work around CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes, and related production equipment, following standard safety practices including appropriate footwear and eye protection. The shop is described as clean and well-maintained, supporting precision aerospace machining. The role requires regular use of precision measuring tools, computers, and Microsoft Office applications as part of daily tasks.
Work hours and shifts may follow standard production schedules and are aligned with meeting customer and production demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $55.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
