Mission descriptionResponsible for scheduling overall Production Operations supporting commitments and forecast for various product lines, both NPD and mature products from RO to delivery. The position will require interface with both internal and external customers. The Master Scheduler will also be responsible for continuous improvement activities and processes related to production scheduling.
Summary of Duties- Develop, maintain, analyze, and coordinate the master production schedule for facility production.
- Review requirements for production's master schedule (12 weeks out) and current forecast for corresponding items.
- Maintain and execute the master production schedule to meet customer expectations and performance goals.
- Ensure alignment between customer's forecast/sales orders and master schedule.
- Coordinate with various departments to facilitate on‑time production and deliveries.
- Coordinate any changes to schedule with production staff and/or relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze capacity needs with S&OP, develop realistic manufacturing schedules and project future capacity constraints.
- Continuously update the project schedule based on changes in the master production schedule, engineering activities, and material updates.
- Gather daily progress information and compile reports concerning status of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise project management personnel of production delays.
- Work with the production staff to expedite operations that may delay projects or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- In coordination with S&OP, ensure factory is level‑loaded based on forecasted workload.
- In coordination with S&OP, ensure maximization of resources for the production facility capacity, materials, and labor.
- Ensure that master schedule reporting is on time and accurate.
- Monitor schedule adherence, weekly shipments, and production efficiency, analyzing standard hours vs. actual hours expended.
- Obtain information from planning regarding shortages in existing backlogs and advise management when on‑time order delivery is jeopardized.
- Evaluate impact of what‑if scenarios on manufacturing performance.
- Input data into various systems and create or prepare reports for production planning or customer meetings.
- Drive operational excellence and provide Supply Chain expertise to other functional areas.
- Be organized, possess time management skills, and adapt to priority changes.
- Provide regular master schedule updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Work daily with the Production supervisor to monitor status and scheduling for on‑time delivery of products.
- Coordinate with development planning group to support required actions related to new engineering drawings or design changes.
- Mentor and support planners in any inquiry.
- Demonstrate leadership and business acumen in actions, interactions and decisions.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings in a positive manner.
- Work on additional projects assigned by Management.
- Requires fluent communication in English.
- Protracted or irregular hours may be required.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree. - Experience:
5 years of experience in production planning in an aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence others. - Computer
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
