Position Overview
Elzly Technology Corporation (Elzly) is recruiting highly experienced coating inspectors and on-site representatives at the following locations:
Norfolk, VA;
Mayport, FL;
San Diego, CA;
Everett, WA;
Pearl Harbor, HI; and Japan/Pacific Ocean. Candidates willing to travel or temporarily relocate may also be considered.
Elzly is a growing consulting‑engineering firm that provides subject‑matter expertise and technical services for corrosion prevention and control, including field investigations, research and testing, training development, and specification development. QualificationsEducation and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one of the following: related military experience, completion of trade/industrial school, or trade experience.
Certification:
Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level III with peer review), or AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level II) with a willingness or ability to obtain the Senior Certified level.
- Experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and/or submarine maintenance, including mitigating corrosion control issues, identifying solutions, and understanding technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and/or C5I systems and equipment; use of surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques and application of coating systems on U.S. Navy ships or in the marine industry; and/or working with and understanding constraints associated with shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance.
- Experience with new corrosion control technologies and how they may be implemented on U.S. Navy ships.
- Supervisory experience managing and overseeing corrosion control work; interfacing with government, shipyard, and contractor corrosion control maintenance activities; and working with U.S. Navy ship leadership, ship personnel, and program leadership.
- Experience in corrosion prevention and control trade.
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth vision, ability to adjust focus; work from a ladder or lift occasionally; safely lift 20 pounds; walk on uneven ground or terrain; work in confined spaces; crawl for extended periods; enter 24‑inch diameter space; hearing, work outside (including inclement weather); manual dexterity to handle small objects, instruments, or gauges; wear a respirator; speaking and smelling.
SalarySalary range: $40.00–$60.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications.
