- Prepare, set up, and tear down test articles and test stands, including instrumentation routing, sensor installation, fluid and electrical connections, and fixture installation.
- Set up, commission, and operate tests in dynamometer, propeller, and component‑level test cells, supporting test engineering during execution and data collection.
- Fabricate, assemble, and modify tooling fixtures, test equipment, ground support equipment, and engineering prototypes using a broad range of fabrication tools and shop equipment.
- Perform general mechanical technician tasks including precision measurement, torque application, thread repair, fastener installation, and basic machining or hand‑fitting as needed.
- Assist in engineering troubleshooting and resolve assembly, integration, and test issues as they arise.
- Support facility, lab, and test cell readiness, including equipment moves, setups, and routine maintenance of shop and test infrastructure.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and company vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, especially those related to rotating machinery, high voltage systems, pressurized systems, and lifting operations.
- 5+ years of experience, or equivalent training, certifications, or education, in aerospace assembly, test, or related hands‑on technical work, including familiarity with quality standards and travelers.
- Strong mechanical assembly skills, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and bills of materials.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and common shop equipment; comfort with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., move heavy pallets with a pallet jack, and stand for long periods.
- Experience preparing and executing tests in dynamometer, propeller, or other powertrain test cells.
- Knowledge of safety protocols around rotating machinery and high voltage systems.
- Experience fabricating or modifying tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment.
- Experience installing instrumentation (thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure transducers, accelerometers) and routing sensor and signal cabling.
- Knowledge of Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software.
- Electronics assembly and rework experience per IPC standards (IPC‑A‑610, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, J‑STD‑001) is a plus.
