Wipro Givon USA – Production Planner

Wipro Givon USA has an exciting new opportunity for a Production Planner to join our team. The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating production schedules that maximize manufacturing capacity, optimize resource utilization, and ensure on-time customer delivery. This position plans and releases work orders, establishes production priorities based on customer demand, material availability, labor and machine capacity, and monitors schedule adherence to ensure production plans remain achievable.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Quality, and Program Management, the Production Planner/Scheduler proactively identifies and resolves material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and capacity constraints, adjusting production schedules as needed to support changing business priorities while minimizing production interruptions and ensuring customer commitments are met.

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules that maximize manufacturing capacity, optimize resource utilization, and ensure on-time customer delivery.
  • Plan, prioritize, sequence, and release production work orders based on customer demand, material availability, labor availability, tooling availability, machine capacity, and production priorities.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, work-in-process (WIP), production progress, and capacity utilization, adjusting schedules as necessary to address changing priorities, material shortages, equipment downtime, engineering changes, and other operational constraints.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and material shortages by working collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, Quality, Customer Service, and Program Management.
  • Expedite critical work orders and develop recovery plans to minimize production disruptions and maintain customer delivery commitments.
  • Maintain accurate planning data, work order status, routings, due dates, and scheduling information within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, delivery risks, and recovery plans to Operations and leadership to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and customer priority changes by incorporating them into production schedules with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Analyze production performance and planning metrics to identify opportunities to improve schedule attainment, throughput, workflow, inventory levels, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning accuracy, reduce lead times, eliminate waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned / needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND ABILITIES Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional certifications, and relevant production planning or manufacturing experience will be considered.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of production planning, scheduling, or production control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining production schedules in an ERP/MRP system;
    Epicor experience preferred.
  • Experience planning and scheduling production based on customer demand, material availability, labor and tooling availability, machine capacity, and changing operational constraints, including equipment downtime.
  • Aerospace or other high-mix, low-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in an AS9100 or other highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
