OverviewAccess Laser Company is seeking a Laser Test Technician to complement our Production Team with testing and fine tuning some of the world’s most impactful application-specific laser products.
Primary Duties:
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and rework/repair electromechanical laser assemblies to production standards independently.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that all lasers meet the highest performance and quality standards.
- Utilize measurement and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, and network analyzers.
- Regularly report updates and any issues to the production lead to ensure smooth operations and clear communication.
- Work with the production, quality and engineering teams to update and maintain work instructions and data collection/reporting documents.
- Collaborate with other departments to productively address problems and implement solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation and create reports of the work you do and the problems you solve.
- Perform quality work in a clean room and ESD controlled environment.
- Assist other departments or teams when needed, demonstrating a collaborative and team-oriented mindset to help achieve the overall success of the company.
- Use the ERP system to track jobs and production time.
- Contribute your expertise to continuous improvement and product improvement initiatives.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
- An associate degree in physics, optics, photonics, electronics technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of electronics, optics, or mechanical manufacturing.
- Hands on experience with building, troubleshooting, and repairing electromechanical systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing products and priorities.
- Ability to effectively contribute to a high-energy and highly collaborative environment.
- A high standard for communication and teamwork.
- Competence in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs on a routine basis with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs, up to 5ft above ground.
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or another hard science
- 3 years’ experience in a test or technician role in high tech manufacturing or a similar service organization.
- Experience with building and testing laser systems.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S concepts.
- An understanding of, or previous experience with RF power supplies.
- Experience in handling optics and part of an assembly process.
- Self-motivated and driven to take on and excel in challenging work.
