Position Overview
Fleishman Hillard is seeking a full‑time summer digital intern for its Washington, D.C. office. The role offers college juniors, seniors, recent graduates, and graduate students the opportunity to work closely with staff across social media strategy, paid media, research, data analytics, and more, engaging with high‑profile accounts in a global client network.
ResponsibilitiesCraft customized web and social metrics reports; assist in the management and creation of paid and organic social campaigns; help run sponsored content and influencer programs; develop content strategy and ideation; navigate content management systems and emerging social platforms; conduct social media research and ongoing monitoring; provide background research on client‑specific issues; identify influencers; draft content on behalf of clients; explore and implement AI tools to streamline work and enhance creative output;
establish best practices for responsible AI usage; stay current with emerging AI applications in digital marketing.
NOTE:
This internship offers a hybrid work experience (remote and in‑office). The position is available to applicants local to the Fleishman Hillard Washington, D.C. office or applicants willing to relocate as necessary.
Candidates must be a college junior, senior, or recent graduate, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be eager to expand skills in social‑focused communications, marketing, advertising, and project management. They must be available full time Monday‑Friday, 9a.m.–5:30p.m.ET. The ideal candidate is social media savvy, comfortable analyzing and interpreting data, able to navigate multiple projects, detail oriented, genuinely curious about AI, and thoughtful about the capabilities and limitations of AI in communications.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, X, You Tube, Linked In, Instagram, etc.)
- Experience or interest with paid social media tools such as Meta Ad Manager, X Ads Manager, and Linked In Ads Manager
- Familiarity with social listening and analysis to inform social media strategy and/or content creation
- Proficiency or interest in analyzing and interpreting high volumes of data; proficiency with Excel preferred
- Ability to write clear and concise client presentations summarizing data insights, outcomes, and implications
- Ability to draft short‑form and long‑form content for social platforms
- Foundational knowledge of AI tools and applications (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) and willingness to explore AI for workflow efficiency and creativity
- Experience with or interest in web development, SEO and/or GEO
- Commitment to cultivating diverse teams and contributing to an inclusive working environment

SalaryThe anticipated hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications, and geography.
