The NEWESD 101 Ameri Corps program brings together Ameri Corps Volunteers and community partners across Northeast Washington who are working toward a shared goal: improving student attendance and strengthening engagement in schools and communities. As a Lead Attendance & Engagement Specialist, you will support the coordination, communication, and engagement efforts of the Spokane Service Team to strengthen attendance improvement work and amplify the impact of Ameri Corps service across the region.
This role focuses on helping connect people, information, and resources—supporting collaboration among volunteers serving in schools, community partners, and regional stakeholders. You will work closely with the Ameri Corps Coordinator to support shared learning across the team, assist with regional engagement efforts, and help elevate the stories, practices, and outcomes emerging from service sites. This position is well suited for someone interested in education, youth engagement, communications, and community partnership work, and who is excited to contribute to a broader network focused on student success.
Returning Ameri Corps Volunteers may be considered for additional peer leadership responsibilities and an enhanced living allowance, based on experience, program needs, and funding availability. All positions are contingent upon receipt of Ameri Corps grant funding and final approval of program awards. Position details, including number of available placements and host site assignments, may be adjusted based on final funding and program approval.
