Young Lives Regional Coordinator

Position adds relational influence and good shepherding to Young Lives staff across the region and supports area directors and staff to care well for healthy and growing local teen parent ministry.

Working Conditions
  • Travel required to visit each area.
  • Calls, Zooms, and meetings with area coordinators required.
  • Fundraising required (area funds, regional monthly investment, personal fundraising).
  • Presence at regional and sub-regional staff retreats expected.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Young Lives in partnership with regional director; communicate regularly with regional director and area directors.
  • Recruit, train, and support Young Lives staff at the area level; encourage new ministry.
  • Participate in Regional Leadership Team and develop or serve on a Young Lives regional committee.
  • Provide support, problem solving, planning, encouragement, vision, and common events/goals to Young Lives staff and volunteer team leaders.
  • Provide initial training tools and plan/lead regular training events; foster community and encourage collaboration with the greater mission of Young Life.
  • Attend area Young Lives events, promote and publicize Young Lives to civic and church groups.
  • Serve on Young Lives Divisional Leadership Team with divisional coordinator; plan division-wide trainings and participate in regular team calls.
  • Ensure administrative requirements are handled timely; ensure accurate reporting via GPS; maintain directory; ensure compliance with volunteer management and childcare policies.
  • Manage finances: raise personal support, use mission financial tools, keep expenses within budget, develop donors, implement financial policies.
  • Encourage and oversee camp participation; manage budgets, assignments, childcare, risk management, equipment, leader training, and other camp needs; serve on camp assignments as directed.
  • Attend regional staff times, retreats; pursue continuing education and training seminars; participate in spiritual enrichment programs.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
  • Ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for Young Lives.
  • Understanding of the unique issues faced by pregnant and parenting teen moms.
  • Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
  • Past or current involvement in local or regional Young Lives ministry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Completion of Young Life Area Director School or equivalent training as determined by supervisor.
