American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level III high-risk perinatal unit, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN or fetal monitoring certification.
Details- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- High-risk perinatal unit with 19 L&D beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
- Facility averages 200-300 deliveries per month
- Target staffing ratios of 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
- Unit supported by 3 triage RNs, surgical techs, CNAs, delivering providers, CRNAs, and Health Unit Coordinators per shift
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating required to Postpartum
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting performed in Epic
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring certification required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams (SVE) as a hardstop requirement
- Experience with IV therapy, administration of blood/blood products, and labor and delivery management required
- Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Provide comprehensive care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum units, including high-risk pregnancy management
- Perform fetal monitoring including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external fetal monitoring
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn assessments
- Assist with high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, preterm labor, and postpartum hemorrhage
- Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Scrubs of any color accepted except reddish orange
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted upfront at time of consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Former Providence employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility they are applying to
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
