American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level III high-risk perinatal unit, requiring 2 years of experience and WA or compact RN licensure.
Details- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- High-risk perinatal unit with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, and 30 postpartum beds
- Facility handles 200-300 deliveries per month
- Unit includes 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
- Staffing goals include 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
- Triage staffed with 3 skilled RNs per shift
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating to Postpartum required
- No call responsibilities
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) skill is a hardstop requirement
- Experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries preferred, though candidates from facilities with 100-200 deliveries will be considered
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Must provide full SSN and DOB for submission
- Provide comprehensive care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum units including high-risk perinatal cases
- Skills needed include fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation/recovery, and newborn care
- Experience with medication administration such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives required
- Support team includes CNAs, surgical techs, CRNAs, delivering providers, and health unit coordinators available 24/7
- Scrubs of any color permitted except reddish orange
- Facility-paid parking provided
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission RTO changes may not be accommodated
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee
