Overview

Part-time Part Time Veterinary Assistant at Broadway Animal Hospital in Everett, WA. This role supports veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks including cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical work. Provides quality care and exceptional service to all patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate care to all patients
  • Greet patients and their owners, take weight and vital signs upon arrival, and guide them to an examination room
  • Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs)
  • Calm and soothe anxious patients
  • Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration or patient restraint
  • Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment (e.g., EKG, fluid pump, syringe pump, scales, anesthetic monitors)
  • Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, and maintain documentation and controlled substance security
  • Feed patients as prescribed, record appetites, and report unusual conditions or behaviors
  • Communicate positively with clients and help them feel comfortable leaving their pet
  • Educate clients about insurance, wellness, and medicinal plans
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness; clean equipment, kennels, and facilities; ensure safe use of chemicals; perform laundry
  • Provide overnight care and grooming for patients staying overnight; ensure animals are clean before release
  • Adhere to safety and wellness regulations
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Show up for work as scheduled
  • Promote hospital products and services; support the organization
  • Respond promptly to directions from DVMs or LVTs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or in specialty areas (e.g., dentistry, surgery, emergency, radiology, cardiology, neurology, internal medicine)
Qualifications (Required)
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of experience in a veterinary environment, performing duties of this position
Schedule

Days and hours may vary. Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Pay Range

$21 — $23.50 USD per hour
