Quality Inspector 3 – Northwest Aerospace Technologies (a Safran Company)
The Quality Inspector 3 is responsible for ensuring that detail and assembly parts, as well as test articles, meet approved drawings and specifications. The role is performed under the procedures and policies of NAT's quality management system.
Responsibilities- Conduct receiving, in-process, first article, final inspection, and customer presentation inspections.
- Validate physical characteristics, processing requirements, and data certifications of parts with complex geometry and configurations.
- Ensure component manufacturing documentation is complete, accurate, and in conformance with drawings, documents, and company procedures.
- Work directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing departments.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Quality Department management.
- Report directly to the Quality Supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (equivalency may be determined by the Quality Manager or Supervisor based on experience).
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in mechanical inspection within aerospace and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using gauges, scales, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other hand tools.
- Experience documenting findings and completing First Article Reports (FAI) using AS9102 forms.
- Skill in writing non-conformance tags for discrepant parts.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read drawings and specifications, follow written procedures, and understand compliance requirements.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Competent in MRP systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements
Primarily a warehouse and manufacturing environment with consistent use of a computer keyboard and monitor. Some local travel may be required. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is expected.
