Salary Range: $77,968.00-$85,000.00

Sign-on Bonus: $2,500.00

Summary

The Quality Specialist 2 (Audit Focus) supports the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS) by emphasizing internal audit execution and third-party audit coordination.

This role is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and sustainment of the internal audit program, as well as acting as a key liaison for external audits (e.g., FAA, EASA, AS9100 registrars, and customers).

While not functioning as the Lead Auditor, this position plays a critical role in audit readiness, audit execution support, and post-audit corrective action follow-up, helping drive compliance, standardization, and continuous improvement across Jamco America.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Audit Program Support
  • Support development and maintenance of the annual internal audit schedule in alignment with QMS requirements.
  • Perform internal audits of processes, procedures, and departments under guidance of Lead Auditor or QA Management.
  • Prepare audit plans, checklists, and supporting documentation based on AS9100, ISO
    9001, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Document audit results clearly, including objective evidence, nonconformities, and observations.
  • Track audit findings and support timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Assist in standardizing audit practices, templates, and reporting methods across the organization.
Third-Party Audit Coordination (Primary Focus Area)
  • Serve as primary coordinator for third-party audits, including:
    • Scheduling and logistical planning (conference rooms, access, badging, etc.)
    • Coordination of audit agendas and department participation
    • Acting as liaison between auditors and internal teams
  • Support audit execution by:
    • Ensuring required documentation and records are readily available
    • Guiding internal personnel on audit expectations and etiquette
    • Tracking real-time audit progress and issues
  • Assist in preparation of pre-audit readiness reviews and post-audit response packages.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Support
  • Support the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process, including documentation, tracking, and closure of quality issues from various sources (internal, external, customer, or audit-related).
  • Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa).
  • Monitor corrective actions to ensure timely completion and verify effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Escalate overdue or ineffective corrective actions to Quality Management as needed.
  • Support maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with AS9100, ISO
    9001, and internal requirements.
  • Assist in identifying trends, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities using quality data and performance metrics.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on process standardization, waste reduction, and overall quality performance.
  • Support training and awareness of quality system requirements across departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment (aerospace preferred).
  • Exposure to core Quality Assurance concepts, including:
    • CAPA processes
    • Root cause analysis and problem-solving
    • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience supporting audits (internal or external) is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including AS9100 and ISO
    9001 principles.
  • Familiarity with Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes, including documentation, tracking, and effectiveness verification.
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa) and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • General understanding of continuous improvement
