This position is for a Safety & Airworthiness Specialist (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the BCA In‑Service Safety Organization in Everett, Washington. The role focuses on leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to regulatory compliance, ensuring aircraft safety and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities- Lead investigations of FAA issued Letters of Investigation, Formal or Informal Compliance Actions, voluntary disclosures, self‑audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness non‑compliances.
- Coordinate closely with functional groups, management, executives, and suppliers to align stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive root‑cause investigations, containment actions, and actions to prevent recurrence, and verify non‑recurrence.
- Ensure investigation write‑up meets regulatory expectations in coordination with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA).
- Partner with enterprise groups to continuously improve processes and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with senior management and technical peers from external customers including airlines and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to lead, influence, and mentor a diverse team.
- Intrinsic aptitude for taking initiative, leading cross‑functional teams and complex projects.
- Ownership of work activities and facilitation to ensure timely, accurate, efficient completion.
10+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with RCCA tools such as the 5‑Whys or Fishbone and the Problem Solving Model.
- 1+ years of experience in commercial airplane operation, certification, safety requirements and procedures.
- Knowledge of FAA regulatory compliance and ODA procedures per 8100.15.
- 1+ years of experience working with FAA or other regulatory agencies.
- Experience in commercial airplane systems design or analysis (e.g., flight controls, hydraulics, avionics, fuels, or systems integration).
- Pilot’s license and Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
100% on‑site at Everett, WA. This is a 1st shift position. Occasional overtime may be required for urgent items.
