Dishwasher / Kitchen Assistant
Pay: $18.40/hour plus an additional $5.09/hour for Health & Welfare.
Schedule:
This is a part‑time position. Days and hours may vary. Weekend and holiday availability is a must.
The Food Service Worker (Cafeteria Worker) prepares, presents, and serves specialty meats, delicacies, preserved foods, cheeses, salads, breads, and sweets. The incumbent weighs, prices, and wraps selected foods, prepares displays in counter cases and other units, greets customers, takes special orders, and answers basic customer questions about specialty foods.
Responsibilities- Set up food on self‑serving lines and portion food for individual servings per instructions.
- Refill cold bars, salad bars, pastry cabinets, condiments, and juice dispensers, and set up dining rooms.
- Replace glassware, dishes, and silverware and refill condiment containers.
- Wipe and wash tables and countertops; clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors, walls, windows, and tables.
- Remove dirty dishes, glasses, and silverware from serving counters.
- Operate electric dishwashing machine and wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils by hand.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a sanitary condition; perform ware‑washing and keep pot and pan areas organized.
- Follow correct cleaning techniques, schedules, and tasks.
- Perform other assigned responsibilities as directed.
- No education or previous experience required; training provided.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of food service experience preferred.
- Neat, well‑groomed appearance expected.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and verbal communication skills.
Regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to walk or sit. May lift or move products and supplies up to 50 pounds. Required vision includes close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is usually loud.
