Quick Check Cashier employees will be responsible for:

• Welcoming Customers into the store
• Creating Purchase orders for in store items
• Stocking and Facing products
• Thanking Customers as they leave the store
• Conduct yourself each day in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumber’s core values.

A successful Quick Check employee at Dunn Lumber is expected to fulfill our culture value of providing a steady rate of service. Quick Check is a dedicated station for customers who only need in-store items and want to get in and out as quickly as possible. Having a station that solely processes small transactions allows a great number of orders to be processed quickly and frees up the rest of the Sales staff.

• Maintain a knowledge of product codes for untagged items
• Use point of sale software to process in-store items
• Alert sales staff to customers in need of assistance
• Process payments, including cash handling
• Direct waiting customers with in-store items to your workstation

Customer service experience is preferred.

This position has no prerequisite education, certificates, or licenses. Employee must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers including the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, and operate a barcode scanner. This position also requires ability to perform basic math, such as counting, fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20+ pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This role will spend up to 8 hours outside.

This job constantly operates in an outdoor retail store environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
