Security Officer

The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property at Swedish Medical Center. Responsibilities include conducting random patrols of the property, responding to and investigating security incidents, reporting safety hazards, documenting actions and observations, responding to alarms and codes with traffic control and safe patient handling, performing routine safety walks, submitting remedial requests, engaging in stressful situations that may require physical force, running, climbing stairs, carrying people, or performing other physical acts in response to emergencies, offering advice to clinical staff on patient release and restraint, and delivering customer service activities such as providing directions and assistance to patients and visitors.

Will be required to work on multiple campuses based on staffing and departmental needs.

May occasionally work as relief lead for a shift. When acting as a lead, the officer assumes all authority and responsibilities of a Security Officer Lead.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• TASER training and certification (with annual re-certification) within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
• AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) training and certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
• Customer service experience and/or training.

• Associate's degree.
• 1 year of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience.
• Healthcare security experience.

Pay Range: $21.08 – $35.89 per hour.
