Construction Crew Member

Job Summary

The Construction Crew Member’s primary responsibility is to perform tasks involving physical labor, welding/cutting of metal and operation of vehicles/equipment related to construction projects associated with advertising structures.

• Construct, install, maintain, upgrade and remove outdoor advertising structures under the direction of a crew chief.
• Operate trucks, metal cutting/welding equipment, power tools and hand tools safely.
• Complete paperwork related to implementation and completion of a job (timecards, work orders, safety compliance, vehicle and equipment inspections).
• Assist crew chief and crew members with site issues and tasks; work independently or within a crew with minimal supervision.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and materials; repair and maintain welding and cutting supplies and equipment.
• Ensure proper fit and assembly of all sign structure components; prime and paint welded material.
• Instruct others on work processes, safety and best practices; maintain a clean work area, tools and equipment.
• Install, remove and rotate outdoor advertising displays and extensions (vinyl, wood or other material).
• Assist with set up and break down of rented equipment as needed.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safe workplace practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and requested.

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction field.
• Valid welding certificate (unlimited thickness, structural welding code D1.1 for SMAW or FCAW vertical and overhead positions).
• Certified Rigger (NCCCO) and/or Crane Operator Certification; OSHA 10- or 30‑hour certification.
• Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or B (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols and engineered drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team.

• Adaptability, achievement orientation, communication, initiative, planning, and strategic thinking.

• Climb ladders or stairs, work at elevations from 10 to over 100 feet.
• Lift and position equipment and materials weighing more than 85 pounds.
• Operate welding equipment, chain saws, jack hammers, air impacts, hand tools, hoists, and shovels.
• Perform digging and shoveling of soils, concrete and fill materials.

In‑ and out‑of‑state travel and overtime required. Hourly rate $25.00–$32.00 per hour, overtime eligible; bonus eligible.
