Everett Ship Repair is the Pacific Northwest Premier Ship Repair Facility. Founded in 2019, it offers repair, maintenance, and conversion services for commercial vessels, focusing on workboats and passenger vessels. It routinely engages in projects for the US Navy and other clients, maintaining an aggressive pursuit of expanding its footprint and expertise.
Responsibilities- Work with the Crane Operator to choose and attach the appropriate lifting apparatus for material transport by crane or forklift.
- Provide hand or radio signals to the crane operator to ensure safe movement of materials during lifts.
- Understand lift dynamics and configurations for slings, straps, cable, chain, brackets, and plate clamps.
- Demonstrate knowledge of shackles, straps, cables, braces, brackets, and other rigging tools including lift capacities, required maintenance, and safety checks.
- Operate forklifts up to 18 tons to transport materials to various departments and deliver needed items.
- Control taglines for small and large lifts following the Director of the lift.
- Assist in stabilizing materials and vessels after transport with cribbing under direction of the operator or Launch Crew Supervisor.
- Use hand and power tools in daily operations to prepare materials for transport or cleanup after transport.
- Act as a member of a team, demonstrating effective communication, adaptation, interpretation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Embrace safety culture and practice safe shipyard work practices and housekeeping.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with crew members and supervision.
- Share trade knowledge with employees, especially apprentices.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating forklifts
- Ability to communicate in English
- Knowledge of crane hand signals
- Ability to control taglines for large and small lifts
- Basic mathematics skills
- Experience working around heavy machinery
- Good verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass company pre‑employment screenings (background check, drug test, physical and skills test)
- 3+ years’ experience in rigging
- Knowledge of rigging and its application in shipbuilding and repair
- Experience and knowledge of Critical Lift Planning
- Interest and aptitude for future leadership roles
