As a Welder on our growing Production Line, you contribute to the success of the company by safely and efficiently welding, cutting, and brazing metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment on dump trucks, trailers, and parts.
Duties/Responsibilities- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment utilizing wire feed welding techniques.
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using blueprints, measuring devices, cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
- Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Conducts quality control evaluations of completed welds.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or welding program, or successful completion of an in-company three‑year training program. High School Graduate preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience with wire feed welding steel (Aluminum experience encouraged).
- 1–2 years of fabrication with welding & layout experience.
- 1–2 years of mechanical experience with hydraulics (preferred).
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, carrying materials and standing for long periods of time.
- Must be comfortable intermittently working at heights of 8 feet.
- Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
- Requires wearing specialized protective or safety equipment.
- Wage Expectations: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
- Pay:
This is a non‑exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi‑weekly basis. - Typical Schedule:
Four (4) ten‑hour days Monday–Friday; overtime may be available on the 5th day of the week and/or Saturdays. - Location:
On Site – 20812 Broadway Ave, Snohomish, WA 98296 - Travel:
Very minimal to none.
