Position: MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will use visual aids and test equipment (e.g., compression gauges, timing gauges, manometers, injector testing machines) to locate and repair worn, dirty, or maladjusted machinery components and parts.
* You will disassemble, inspect, repair, overhaul, and modify marine machinery or equipment prior to, during, and after completion of testing to verify all components are operating at an optimum.
* You will troubleshoot marine machinery equipment to identify if trade material, tools, or equipment is defective, not operating properly, or not within operation specifications.
* You will interpret blueprints and drawings to verify the required repairs are made on marine machinery. Requirements Conditions of employment

The ability to perform the work of a Marine Machinery Mechanic without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by the following:
1) Troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and installing marine engines, outboard engines and equipment on a variety of marine craft and other equipment;
2) Disassembling and making onsite repairs to marine equipment; determining the nature and extent of repairs necessary and drawing sketches to produce replacement parts;
3) Making needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components;
4) Reassembling and installing the equipment (engines or propulsion machinery and auxiliary). (
