As a Technician at Penske, you’ll do preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road. Considering a starting career or with experience, this role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth.
MainResponsibilities
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Performing preventative maintenance such as replacing or rotating tires, lubricating and replacing components, electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Partnering with managers to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Team‑player with strong independence.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- Requires DOT compliance: current driver qualification file, annual MVR check, DOT physical, safety performance history. CDL holders subject to drug screening within 30 days of start.
- Willingness to work required schedule, location, complete background screenings, pass drug screen and physical. Potential travel within local geography for training.
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
- Use hands to grasp, reach, and operate tools or controls.
- Work safely at heights with applicable ladders and elevated platforms.
- Work safely in all weather conditions.
- Must see and hear to navigate work environment safely.
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg); occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
$31.65 per hour
HoursTuesday – Saturday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
